Summary:

The Basin Harbor tennis program operates from early June through Labor Day. Our tennis facilities consist of two Har-Tru courts, three All-Weather courts, and a Pro Shop. Two of the All-Weather courts convert to pickleball use. The Tennis Instructor will be responsible for assisting the Tennis Professional with all club tennis activities.  This position is considered to be an Independent Contractor.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Junior Tennis instruction
  • Clay Court Maintenance
  • Lessons to participants of all ages
  • Accurately record all fees and transfer into billing system
  • Oversee rental of facility equipment
  • Enforce all club rules and regulations governing the use of the facility, equipment and other property
  • Ensure all club members and guests receive prompt and professional attention to all their tennis needs
  • Maintain an accurate record of all lessons and clinics given; provide reports on a regular basis
  • Inspect and maintain all physical areas constantly.

Essential Qualifications and Competencies:

  • USPTA or PTR certification preferred
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Critical evaluation skills.
  • A commitment to ethical practice and legal compliance.
  • Must be highly motivated with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to teach tennis and pickleball to a diverse clientele
  • Evenings and weekends required
  • Must be able to adapt to changes in a fast paced, dynamic, and sometimes intense work environment
  • Must be willing and able to pass a background check 
  • Have the stamina to work up to 10+ hours: sitting, standing and walking.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift up to 25lbs, reach overhead and perform repetitive motion.
  • May involve walking between venues and climbing stairs between floors.
