Summary:

The Reservation Agent position involves making, recording, and canceling reservations for the resort, providing general information to callers or booking a recreational activities. Agents may provide property tours to potential guests. Cross training will be provided to assist Front Office staff to cover breaks as needed.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Take ownership of Guest concerns and complaints and ensure that they are recorded, resolved, and followed up on.
  • Answer inquiries pertaining to resort services, reservations, shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.
  • Correspond with all guests; group, travel agents, and social members, to answer special requests for rooms and rates.
  • Take telephone reservations and operate computer terminals and printers to store and receive reservation data.
  • Crossed trained to learn duties of the Front Desk Agent and may be scheduled to cover Front Desk shifts.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years in customer service related positions.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to apply common sense, understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
  • Fluent in English. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations in person and over the telephone.
  • Technical competence in Microsoft Office Products. Ability to learn and adapt to new software systems quickly. Three separate systems will need to be learned upon hiring.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a high-pressure work environment and work well in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced and sometimes intense work environment.
