Summary:

The Kids Camp Supervisor oversees the daily operations and activities of a summer camp for children. They ensure the safety, well-being, and engagement of campers while maintaining a positive and inclusive environment. The supervisor collaborates with camp staff, parents, and campers to create a memorable and enriching experience for all participants. Basin Harbor kids camp has a long history of providing timeless memories and lifelong friendships. This energetic program is designed for children ages 3-12 and encompasses morning and afternoon programming. Position will require flexible work hours and season-long availability.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Supervise and lead a team of camp counselors, ensuring they are properly trained and supported in their roles.
  • Develop and implement age-appropriate camp programs and activities that align with the camp's goals and objectives.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of campers by enforcing camp policies, emergency procedures, and health and safety guidelines.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive camp culture by promoting teamwork, respect, and cooperation among campers and staff.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, providing updates on camp activities, addressing concerns, and answering questions.
  • Manage camp logistics, including scheduling, registration, attendance, and camper records.
  • Evaluate camp programs and activities to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
  • Maintain a clean and organized camp environment, ensuring equipment and facilities are safe and in good condition.
  • Adhere to all camp policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Previous experience working with children in a camp or similar setting is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate activities.
  • First Aid and CPR certification may be required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing camp needs and schedules.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Works with Recreation Director to manage staff for the Kids Program, carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
