Summary:

Laundry Supervisor is a 100% participating leadership role. The supervisor oversees laundry staff and ensures all work related to the processing, storage, distribution, quality, and flow of linen and chemicals is executed accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Opens Laundry facility and assesses daily work activities for prioritization
  • Maintains accurate and complete data, making sure that all records kept are accurate and complete.
  • Assists in maintaining an inventory of all linen and chemicals across the resort.
  • Co-ordinates daily laundry activities and distribution of linen and chemicals to the proper departments on the resort.
  • Receives and deciphers laundry volume data on a daily basis and plans accordingly.
  • Maintains quality control and strict adherence to prescribed linen standards.
  • Assists in conducting orientation and training of new employees to explain company policies, linen and laundry work procedures, and to demonstrate proper use and maintenance of equipment.
  • Confers with Executive Housekeeping Manager to resolve production and personnel issues.
  • Assists the Executive Housekeeping Manager in determining the required staffing levels in the department.
  • Assists the Executive Housekeeping Manager with clerical duties of the department such as answering the phone, taking messages, paging out HotSOS calls, and answering questions about laundry processing status.
  • Oversees staff to maintain cleanliness and organization of the Laundry Facility (inside and outside)
  • Actively involved in the processing of used linen and other related items
  • Reviews and monitors the linen needs of special events or functions calendars and ensures that those needs are met in a timely manner and plans accordingly with set up staff to meet any required needs related to the laundry department.

Essential Qualifications and Competencies:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role in a production facility
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Critical evaluation skills and a commitment to ethical practice and legal compliance.
  • Attention to detail and strong work ethic
  • Ability to use, or learn to use commercial laundry equipment
  • Ability to perform heavy work and lift 50 plus pounds regularly.
  • Must be able to adapt to changes in a fast paced, dynamic, and sometimes intense work environment
  • Ability to work long hours which may involve prolonged sitting, standing and walking.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift up to 50 lbs, reach overhead and perform repetitive motion.
  • Must be willing and able to pass a background check.
