Summary:

The Dining Services Captain supervises and coordinates banquet events and dining service as assigned, assisting service staff as necessary. Also, implements and ensures Basin Harbor policies and procedures are followed. The Captain provides sincere service through actions that display self-confidence, grace and courtesy to guests and colleagues. This resort position offers competitive compensation at $35 per hour, along with employee housing (if required) and meal benefits. AM shifts typically run from 6:00 AM to noon five to six days a week, providing a structured yet flexible schedule that allows for ample personal time in the afternoons. PM shifts typically run from 2:00pm – 10:00pm. Employees can enjoy a comfortable living arrangement and convenient dining options while working in a dynamic and welcoming resort environment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Oversees dining room staff for efficiency and conduct
  • Assists servers, DSAs and Hosts
  • Assist in monitoring and training staff
  • Trains staff to work with maximum efficiency/productivity
  • Creates station maps by coordinating with Hosts/Hostess for reservation times and numbers
  • Tracks staff absences on attendance card
  • Assists with setting up and resetting dining room
  • Is responsible for maintaining and monitoring staff incentives.
  • Prepares and submits nightly paperwork to the Night Auditor
  • Assists Event Manager in planning and organizing events.
  • Assists in leading the Event Set up team.
  • Oversees event details and assists in team leadership.
  • Oversees lunch service at Hattie’s.

  • Able to co-operate with co-workers and staff to promote and maintain team spirit
  • Has experience in dining room setting with regards to efficiency
  • Able to function in leadership role in the absence of the Dining Services Manager
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs repeatedly and to work under pressure
  • Must be willing and able to pass a background check
