Summary:

Assist manager in managing a high quality restaurant at a four star service establishment. Provide excellent service to both external and internal customers. Excel at surpassing guest expectations. Assist in training and managing staff to ensure timely, accurate and seamless service. Demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication and time - management skills at all times. Proficient at multi-tasking and delegating as well as being a hands-on worker.  Assist in cost controls and all aspects of increasing revenue.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in hiring, training and supervising staff to ensure timely accurate and seamless service. Training to include but is not limited to: customer service, opening and closing procedures, side work, wait staff -service of tables, POS cash register training, proper cash handling and BHC policies and procedures.  
  • Customer service focused both internally and externally, detail oriented, and excel at maintaining and raising standards.  “WOW” the guests.  Develop and maintain a positive interaction with guest throughout the meal including: introducing yourself to the guest before or at the beginning of the meal, remembering and using their name, demonstrating at all times that the Basin Harbor staff is there to exceed their expectations.
  • Work with Manager and Chef to promote specials, create menus and maintain controls within dining room and kitchen. 
  • Work in concert with the kitchen and other departments to provide seamless service and open communication.
  • Profit and Loss: including meeting departmental targets in finance, labor and food as well as productivity levels, forecasting, scheduling, requisitions, and inventory for departmental supplies.
  •  Good prioritization, have good time management skills, strong leadership skills and effective communication skills are essential.
  •  Delegate tasks, be a hands on worker, and skilled at multi-tasking.
  • Duties include ensuring that the wait and bar staff are set-up and provide timely, accurate and high quality service to exceed guest satisfaction.      

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to use, or learn POS cash register system, and any other restaurant related equipment.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
  • Visual acuity necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, for accounting, for transcription, for computer terminal use, for extensive reading, for visual inspection involving small defects and small parts, using measurement devices, and assembly or fabrication of parts at distances to the eye.
  • To operate machines whether the seeing job is at or within arms reach.
  • Ability to multi-task.   
  • Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time. e.g. entire shifts.
Ability to do medium work (defined as exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects).
