Summary:

The Accounting Coordinator supports most of the accounting tasks necessary to be carried out by the Accounting Department. The Accounting Coordinator will be cross trained on all of the following accounting duties to support the need of the department.  The Accounting Coordinator reports primarily to the Chief Financial Officer with supervision by the Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Performing Daily Audit tasks which include:
    • Collecting and sort paperwork and receipts daily from all venues.
    • Reconcile Point of Sale reports with paperwork, cash and credit card merchant processor software reports.
    • Research reconciling items, and process adjustments after approved by Accounting Manager.
    • Populate revenue and receipt tracking Excel sheets.
    • Preparing and making bank deposits.
  • Performing various reconciliations to support the accounting process and financial reporting process.
  • Auditing of financial information provided by the Chief Financial Officer or other Department Heads.
  • Compiling daily financial information on defined schedules for the purpose of communicating financial information to the field.
  • Monitoring and ordering of office supplies for the entire property.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Essential Qualifications and Competencies:

  • A High School degree with a minimum of 2 years of working experience in an accounting environment, preferably with experience in hotel audit and/or bookkeeping.
  • Experience must provide evidence that the candidate has a good understanding of the particulars of an Accounting Software.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Suite, mostly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to be detail oriented, be extremely accurate with data entry while being able to analyze problems and recommend solutions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to exercise critical thinking and mature judgment.
  • Must be willing and able to pass a background check.
